A beautiiful bargain

Bought the Zatoichi 2 sword/cane as a Xmas present for myself...thank you, me. Shipping took a little longer than I anticipated, but it was holiday time and I'm generally impatient. Jamie (?) the customer service guy was very helpful and reassuring with emails while I waited for the arrival of my purchase. The sword arrived well packaged and in perfect condition. The photos at the top of the product description page show what you get, but fail to do justice to the colors and textures that are revealed upon opening the sword's wooden display box. The unvarnished box top is branded with "Zatoichi" in both English and Japanese symbols, the silky cloth lining is my favorite shade of orange and the sword bag jet black. The "cane" itself is lacquered a deep vivid red. Lying on the bag in the box it looks like the world's biggest most deadly lipstick case...lovely. The sword is as advertised, solid and surprisingly sharp...effortlessly shaving strips from a sheet of typing paper. The quality of craftsmanship of the sword is better than might be expected from such a reasonably price piece. The one exception being the habaki which is merely functional. Over all, I am pleased with the entire purchasing experience, and would not hesitate to recommend Swords of the East. There are a couple of other katanas on site that are calling my name as "must haves", and I will be back for more,
