Very pleased

This sword is well balanced, well built, and extremely beautiful. The blade has some minor blemishes, like some minor scratches from mechanical grinding that weren't fully polished, and a couple of spots on the spine of the blade where the line is slightly off. Overall for the price, it is very well made. Nothing feels loose or looks cheap. The sword comes very sharp, and is a delight to use. My order did get messed up a couple of times in what seemed like a disorganized system, but in the end they were helpful and made up for the delays buy not charging me extra after I upgraded the sword from the initial order.

This is my second katana and it certainly exceeds my expectations with its performance. Its polish is beautiful and its cutting ability is second to none at such a good price! That being said, there are some inaccuracies regarding the specs I would like to address. First and foremost, the description on this page states the Senshi Tengoku weighs "2.8 lbs", however the certificate the sword comes with says it weighs "3.11 lbs". Also, the overall length of the sword is listed as "44.5" inches, but it is actually '41.5 inches" according to the certificate. Finally, the handle is 11.5 inches on the certificate, even though it's listed as 12 inches on the website. Just a few minor details some sword collectors may not even worry about, but to a martial artist, those details are extremely important when handling their sword. It's very possible that every sword made will differ because no hand-forged sword is exactly the same, but to those who are looking to buy their swords who are beginners, it's best to know that every sword will be different. Regardless of minor differences, this sword is absolutely outstanding in every way, and I give it a well deserved 5 stars!
Best Bang for the buck!!!

I just purchased the Tengoku and all I can say is wow every time I pick it up, for the price this sword is a very solid purchase! I inspected every inch of this piece and cannot find anything about it that is dissatisfying. The other reviews are right, the pictures don't do it justice, I had a hard time taking it to the yard for cutting tests but I did and it passed with flying colors! The extra weight takes a minute to get used to but it is what I believ makes this sword a heavy hitter! James my hats off to you for the excellent support you provide and I will definitely be back for more Ryumon product! I'll end with this, all the fittings are tight and this Katana has an extremely sharp edge, be careful and enjoy!
Beautiful beast

This is a very beautifully designed sword. The construction is perfect in every way. The name of this katana gives it an authentic aura. This blade had the traditional and authentic carvings on either side of the blade. Pictures don't do this sword justice. I love the fact that the blade had a certificate of authenticity. It shows the date it was made. The name of the blade smith and how many years experience he has. A great blade. Very happy with my purchase. I'm looking at buying other blades from this manufacturer. The quality is superb.
this katana is a beast
