The Lotus Citadel Katana is a custom high quality limited edition sword. Only 100 of this katana are made. Each one is signed by the smith and numbered. This sword is made in the same way as other high quality swords, but with simplified fittings for a focus on cutting practice. The solid 1075 blade has no fuller of bo-hi, so has more weight and a forward balance. The blade is has a sharp taper from the central ridge to the back. The makes the blade thicker and gives it more niku, while keeping balanced. Because of this, it can cut hard targets without the edge chipping. Each individual pure iron fitting is cut and shaped by hand. They are very tough and do not need maintenance often. Iron will bend instead of break under pressure, a great quality in the weapon. Like the rest of the katana, the tsuba also uses a simpler Lotus style. Each tsuka is carved individually for the sword for a proper fit. The handle is wrapped in natural black Japanese silk around the ray skin. The hishigami ensure a long life. The lacquered says has a semi gloss finish and buffalo horn mounts. Every piece of this katana is completely handmade.
