Keeping with Japanese traditions our Imperial Sword Collection is crafted using only traditional materials and fittings. The Tsuba (guard), Fuchi (collar), and Kashira (pommel) are expertly made and finely crafted from black iron. The Habaki (blade collar) is hand made out of polished brass and each tsuka (handle) is covered in ray skin and tightly wrapped in the traditional cross over style ito (braid). It takes time to produce folded blades of this quality and this is why our Imperial Sword Collection is more difficult to acquire. We take great pride in the quality and performance of or swords, we will not compromise this quality and/or performance.

Lots of Character with this one

I thought I ordered a different sword but got this one instead. I was about to go nuclear with myself but after wielding this a few times and examining it closely, I was convinced it was a keeper. It really feels solid in the hand. The blade shows the multiple folds and shows only subtle clay lines which you only see upon close inspection. In essence, every inch on both sides tells a different persona about the blade. Sort of like going down a river with different waves. I have no problems with the cutting power of this sword. I almost ruined my leather sofa by just touching it with this. (there is a small mark) Really sharp. Craftsmanship is very good. Sword point is exacty midline as you stretch it out. The only catch is that the other peg is hidden and you have to really unwrap it to take out the handle. I guess it's a safety feature that keeps the sword from "flying out" as you use it. Very happy with this purchase. For my price point, wouldn't have it any other way. I had a hard time deciding on what sword to get. I hope this helps you. My advice: "Let the sword find you..."

Incredible Katana

This katana is a work of art. It cuts bamboo mats like butter and comes back for more. It is a really high end piece and you feel powerful when you wield it. These samurai swords from imperial are no joke. You will thank me when you get yours.
