The K120C powder steel blade is differentially tempered with a traditional claying method to the grain patter (hada) showing distinct layers. The temper line (hamon) is evident and prominent. the blade features groove (bo-hi) on both sides. The tsuba is made from blackened iron depicting a "stalking tiger" inlaid in brass. The ray skin (same) is covered on the handle (tsuka) with Japanese Cotton. The saya is deeply lacquered in black and inlaid with brass bamboo leaves.
