Detailed Description
This katana is the perfect match to the extremely popular tactical wakizashi. Hot on the heels of our incredibly popular Tactical Wakizashi, the Tactical Katana has all of the same features and more! The Kat features a full-tang blade in 5160 high-carbon spring steel, plasma-coated for corrosion protection, and a checkered Kraton handle for a positive grip. The guard and the handle feature lanyard holes which, with the included ParaCord, provide a number of carrying options. The fiberglass scabbard construction eliminates water absorption and adds less than 10 ounces to the weight of the sword. With the accent on light and quick, one-handed operation is the norm but two-handed slashing power is available when needed.
Made by Hanwei.

Just got this today and am very happy with the purchase. Arrived very quickly and well packed. The blade is nicer than I imagined from the images. The blade isn't super sharp out of the box, but it did a good job of cutting light targets and a fair job on medium ones. I was really hacking away at a heavy cardboard tube used to roll carpetting and the blade showed great resilience and almost no scratching. Actually better than through or dif hardened 1060 blades I have. The Tsuka is awesome. Just what I wanted, no wood core to crack or ito to come loose. I don't cut hardly at all with my good sword because I don't want to ruin the tsuka. I have a katana and wak that have been sitting for over a year while waiting for me to get around to carving new cores and rewrapping. Can't ever see a problem like that here. The tsuka on this is strong and no-nonsense, I won't hesitate to cut with this sword. Just don't know if this can be dissasembled without too much trouble. The brass grommets would have to be drilled out and the mekugi are metal and I don't know if they are removable. I like the "flat" tsuba and utilitarian sheath- all very good for those who want to cut more and repair less. For the money you can't beat it.
