The Performance series Practical Plus Katana is a newly enhanced Japanese katana that represents an effective blend of form and function. A cutting blade as dependable as the Practical katana, the Practical Plus offers higher-end fittings and construction for a more traditional offering than its counterpart. The blade of the Practical Plus katana shows a beautifully prominent hamon on forged and differentially tempered steel, and delivers a potent edge (at HRC60) and durable back (HRC40) for great cutting performance. This blade terminates in a long tang that is double pegged for security and improving the overall strength of the sword. Traditional features include a Tsuka of genuine ray skin same' tightly woven in a cotton braided ito. The Japanese Dogwood motif makes for wonderful aesthetics on the fittings, with a great looking iron "sunburst" Tsuba, brass habaki and dragon menuki completing the offering. This Japanese sword is a great choice for those seeking an economical blade for tameshigiri that delivers fine traditional styling.
